GTRI Orlando was established in this area due to Orlando and Central Florida being a hub for modeling, simulation, and training. The Orlando Field Office focuses on Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) systems and software development, including applied research, exploratory, and advanced development of new mobile LVC and Range training systems. GTRI Orlando:

  • Maintains current systems on training ranges and exercise venues to ensure the highest level of training confidence and technical standards.
  • Provides software development, systems integration, network design, hardware, electrical, and mechanical engineering, participates in planning and executing training events, and provides technical guidance.
  • Provides engineering support for training of U.S. and foreign assets, supporting government exercises and field tests, and conducting field operations for training U.S. operators.
  • Offers GTRI business opportunities related to test and evaluation, homeland security, and to support Joint operations at U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), and U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM).

Other focuses for GTRI Orlando include investment analyses for training systems, design of experiments courses, test and evaluation workforce development, virtual electronic combat training system, embedded training, training effectiveness, and cyber systems and education.
