Impact

As the nation's system engineers, GTRI leverages the science and engineering base of Georgia Tech to enhance the impact of our collective research output.

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is the nonprofit, applied research organization of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). As the nation's system engineers, we develop advanced technology solutions and large-scale system prototypes to address the most difficult problems facing our national security, while enhancing the economic development of the state of Georgia, improving the overall human condition, and educating future technology leaders.

National Security

The most complex problems facing U.S. national security are tackled every day at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, with research ranging from cyber forensics for adversarial attacks to health care tools that monitor soldiers in the field. GTRI's research is critical to ensuring warfighters have the technological edge they need to prevail in any conflict.

Economic Impact for Georgia

Since its founding in 1934 with the explicit mission to boost the state's economy, GTRI has continued to provide economic value through its specialized research laboratories, partnerships, and projects that directly benefit Georgia. GTRI enhances the State of Georgia's economic impact by conducting applied research in key sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and technology, and supporting the growth of Georgia's existing industries and infrastructure. Additionally, our national security mission work has enabled GTRI to develop a wide array of core capabilities and expertise that can be pivoted to support economic impact in the State of Georgia.
