Mark Militello is the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Finance and Research Administration, and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for GTRI. As GTRI’s CFO, Militello is the executive leader responsible for managing GTRI's financial health and strategy. He oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, research administration, financial compliance, accounting, and investments, ensuring GTRI's financial stability and alignment with overall strategic objectives. He also plays a key role in financial reporting and strategic decision-making.
Militello oversees all financial organizations within GTRI, the GTRI Accounting and Controller’s Office, Finance and Audit Compliance, and Sponsored Project Support. He also serves as Treasurer of the Georgia Tech Applied Research Corporation (GTARC), a 501(c)(3) organization that supports research activities at Georgia Tech.
Militello is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with fifteen years of experience, serving as a thought leader in government contract accounting, financial management and analysis, forecasting, financial strategy planning and implementation, process modernization, internal controls, as well as regulatory compliance.
Militello started his career at GTRI in 2011 as a Financial Analyst directly supporting laboratory business operations and has worked in various roles at GTRI over the years. He also served as GTRI’s Senior Director of Finance and Audit and was responsible for the development and management of GTRI’s $1 billion annual budget, maintaining GTRI’s cost recovery systems, indirect rate calculations, and for leading all financial compliance activities for GTRI.
Militello holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Kennesaw State University, a Master’s degree in accounting from Georgia State University, and an executive leadership certificate from Cornell University.
