Resilient Infrastructure and Supply Chain
CIPHER's Resilient Infrastructure and Supply Chain (RISC) unit specializes in fundamental research and development focused on cyber-physical energy systems. RISC incorporates novel material fabrication and characterization, with system-level, life-cycle models. With a diverse sponsor base including federal, state, and industry organizations, RISC engineers and scientists utilize a multi-disciplinary approach to address sponsor needs. Technical areas of expertise include: electrochemical energy storage, microelectronic design and fabrication, manufacturing design and cost optimization, and sustainable system modeling of the built environment. Academic Collaborations
The RISC unit has strong ties to GT resident instruction including sponsored research collaborations, and adjunct positions. Primary units of collaborations include: Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Architecture, and Computer Science. Many RISC faculty teach undergraduate or graduate courses, including VIPs and Continuing Education. In addition, RISC is very involved in K-12 outreach and STEM@GTRI activities.
