CHAI's mission is to improve human health and medical research through innovations in the capture, analysis, and delivery of data to healthcare stakeholders.
The Center has four key goals:
The creation of a harmonized health data ecosystem across different data types including structured, unstructured, on-body, genomic, and patient reported data
The creation and adoption of standardized open source platforms for health analytics, incorporating advanced machine learning, natural language processing, sensors, and deep phenotyping
The promotion and development of health interoperability protocols such as FHIR and OHDSI
The application of user experience design and evaluation to evaluate the effectiveness of data-driven healthcare intervention
The Information and Communications Laboratory is a fundamental and applied research laboratory focused on transdisciplinary research across the entire information science hierarchy.
