Tom McNeil is the interim director of the Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL) at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). McNeil’s 43-year professional career has spanned basic and developmental research, defense acquisition, military operations and intelligence, and includes over sixteen years in the telecommunications industry. His research portfolio encompasses a range of critical DoD and intelligence community areas, including advanced technology peer threat projection, future complex scenario modeling, operational analysis and concept of operations development for non-kinetic capabilities, and multi-domain kill web analysis.
McNeil is a retired US Air Force officer with extensive experience in electronic warfare and information operations as well as systems acquisition and operational requirements analysis. He currently teaches Global Strategic Intelligence at Georgia Tech’s Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, leads an external Technical Advisory Board focused on the future Department of the Air Force Battle Network, and is a past member of the US Air Force Scientific Advisory Board.
