From Points North

  1. Take I-75 South, Exit 14, toward Atlanta (U.S. 41)/Chattanooga.
  2. Merge onto the I-75 South Windy Hill Road ramp.
  3. Take the Windy Hill Road Exit toward Smyrna.
  4. Turn right onto Windy Hill Road.
  5. Cross Cobb Parkway, a five-lane road 0.7 mile from the expressway.
  6. After going under a bridge overpass you will immediately turn right onto Atlanta Road.
  7. Travel approximately 0.9 miles down Atlanta Road (second traffic light) to Lockheed Martin.
  8. Turn right and proceed under railroad tracks to George McMillan Drive (first traffic light).
  9. Turn left and proceed approximately 0.4 miles to a stop sign near the Naval Air Station Gate.
  10. Proceed straight for 0.3 miles on Richardson Road to facility on the right.
  11. Proceed through the Cobb County Research Facility gate and go around to the end of the lake.
  12. Free visitor parking is on the left.
  13. Enter Building 1 on the left and proceed up the stairs.
  14. Check in with the guard in the lobby.

From the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI)

  1. Take I-75 North to the Windy Hill Road exit (first exit after I-285 interchange).
  2. Turn left onto Windy Hill Road.
  3. Cross Cobb Parkway, a five-lane road 0.7 mile from the expressway.
  4. After going under a bridge overpass you will immediately turn right onto Atlanta Road.
  5. Travel approximately 0.9 miles down Atlanta Road (second traffic light) to Lockheed Martin.

The Center for Innovative Fuel Cell and Battery Technologies is not accessible via mass transit.

Visitor Procedures


The following procedures shall be adhered to when visiting GTRI facilities:

  1. Guests must check in with the on-duty contract guard.
  2. All guests will have their identity verified via photo identification.
  3. The on-duty contract guard will contact the GTRI person to be visited who will be responsible for their guests.
  4. Representatives of the federal government, when acting in their official capacity as inspectors, investigators or auditors, may visit GTRI facilities without advance notification, provided these representatives present appropriate government credentials upon arrival.
  5. All guests will be issued a badge as a form of identity to verify they have been properly vetted by the on-duty contract guard.
